Letter from the owner (more commonly known as the about page)
Hi ! And welcome to Chibi & Esme! I find it hard trying to describe what we are... so for now I’m going to give it a blanket statement and call us a concept space... but.. if you wanted a list of what we do.. here are some of the things.. - we sell: books, clothes, ceramics, stickers, trinkets
- we publish artist books
- we occasionally hold workshops.. though soon this will be transforming into a drop in craft session.
and soon we plan to
- more consistently run a blog.
- hold space for low energy protesting - this is aimed towards people with chronic fatigue who find it hard to attend rallies and want to protest.
At Chibi & Esme we try to push the boundaries on what it means to be a retail space. Our values lye in #care #education #authenticity and #intention. We have many anti-capitalist values and are feel very strongly that when you come to the store you don’t feel like how you would in any other retail space. We want you to feel comfortable and inspired. We really want to push beyond a monetzied transaction. That being said there is no denying that many aspects of our space is capitalistically function. Most of our products function on consignment and few products are bought on wholesale.
It’s tricky running a space which is mostly a store with many anti-capitalist values. In that, we are not trying to hide the fact we sell products. in that we will try to do this holistically and radically through curiosity.
Anyways.. enough yapping for now... if you’re trying to find us, we are located down the hallway, first room to the left, inside TCB Gallery in Naarm ‘Melbourne’.
I also forgot to mention, we love cats.

FAQ
Irl store
- We are currently only open on weekends from 12-4. If you are visiting from out of state or can’t make it on the weekend, feel free to send us a dm and we can do an apt on a weekday!
- Sporadically, we are unable to open on a Saturday or Sunday, and sometimes we randomly open on a weekday, it’s best that if you’re planning to visit to follow along on our instagram, particuarly our story for updates on our trading hours.
Online Store
- Orders will be shipped in 1-3 weeks from the day of purchase.
- We only ship in Australia, you can choose between tracked or untracked (enevelope with stamps).
- If your order is lost, damaged or stolen we do not provide refunds or replacements.
General
- We are always open to submissions for having your work on consignment or to publish your publication, just send us an email with your enquiry! Please do not send these enquiries via instagram dm.
